Already got a few questions on the technology behind this place. It’s pretty much a basic WordPress site put together with the kind help of Jørgen, with some added JavaScript for the OpenLayers live tracking of my hiking/climbing progress from Garmin, all of this courtesy of Ole.
In short, my Garmin inReach GPS and satellite radio sends out beacons of my location every 2-3 minutes as I hike, regardless of cell coverage. Then the website pulls these data, and display them on the Track Me page.
The backend makes sure that I don’t publish more tracks than intended.
